Description
Both on Linux and Windows: When the pinpad is enabled in opensc.conf and you call a web page asking for a certificate, the card reader blinks at once. After entering the pin there, Firefox 3 crashes.
Firefox 3 works, if you disable the pinpad.
Firefox 2 works with the pinpad, but not in a convincing way. You get a prompt to enter the PIN at the computer's keyboard. There your input is ignored and and only after pressing the enter key the pinpad wakes up.
My system on Debian Linux (Lenny):
pcscd Version: 1.4.101-2 ibccid Version: 1.3.7-1 opensc Version: 0.11.4-3
Card Reader Kobil KAAN advanced.

I confirm the problem on Mac OS X with a proprietary PKCS#11 token.
The problem is not in OpenSC but in Firefox 3. You should report the bug to firefox if not already done, and add a link to the bug report from here.

This FireFox 3 bug has been fixed already and will be included in FireFox 3.0.2 or 3.0.3
